Nikon India Private Ltd. has unveiled its inaugural ‘Wonders of the Wild‘ photography and videography contest in partnership with the Worldwide Fund for Nature – India (WWF-India). This exciting contest aims to celebrate and reward the skills of wildlife photographers and videographers across India, who passionately capture the mesmerizing moments of flora and fauna through their lenses. The contest, spanning one and a half months, invites entries from wildlife enthusiasts nationwide, with submissions open until March 3, 2024.
The initiative seeks to inspire and encourage photographers and videographers dedicated to wildlife and nature to showcase their creativity and storytelling abilities. By highlighting India’s rich biodiversity, the contest aims to raise awareness about wildlife conservation efforts in the country.
Mr. Sajjan Kumar, Managing Director of Nikon India Pvt. Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm for the contest, stating, “India’s diverse wildlife offers photographers and videographers an unparalleled canvas to showcase their talent globally. Our initiative, ‘Wonders of the Wild,’ underscores our commitment to wildlife photography, supported by our extensive range of lenses and mirrorless cameras designed for wildlife enthusiasts.”
Ms. Kaveri Jain, Director Marketing and Communications at WWF-India, applauded Nikon India’s initiative, emphasizing the crucial role of wildlife photography in raising public awareness about India’s biodiversity. She expressed WWF-India’s pride in partnering with Nikon India for the contest and announced that winners would receive conservation products from the WWF-India Nature Store.
The contest jury includes esteemed wildlife photographers and videographers such as Mr. Shaaz Jung, Ms. Latika Nath, and Mr. Kallol Mukherjee, who will evaluate the submissions and select the top entries.
Participants can submit their entries through the Nikon India website or Instagram, showcasing their best wildlife photographs and videos captured using Nikon cameras and lenses. Exciting prizes worth INR 8 lakhs await the winners, including a Nikon Z 8 mirrorless camera as the grand prize.
